Gabi Lynch

Gabrielle Lynch was born in Florence, South Carolina and very proud of her Filipino-Irish American heritage. She began dancing ballet, tap and jazz at the age of three. At 15 years old, she left home to pursue her dreams. She received a full tuition scholarship to attend the South Carolina Governor’s School of the Arts and Humanities as a high school ballet major. She competed in the Youth America Grand Prix South Carolina regional competition and placed 2nd in the classical ballet division and 3rd in contemporary. She later graduated high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC. 

During her summers in high school, she attended summer intensives on scholarship at American Ballet Theater in New York City, Orlando BalletMiami City Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet. She completed her first two years of college at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) as a Bachelor of Fine Arts Ballet major. She was the recipient of the prestigious Doris Duke Scholarship at UNCSA. She then decided to pursue a different career path and transferred to Pace University in New York to complete her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She also completed her Master of Science in Health Communication from Boston University.

While in New York, she worked for many well-known fashion designers and also taught ballet classes at Ballet Tech. She began taking latin dance classes at Sandra Cameron Dance Studio and later started teaching Salsa On 1 at the 92nd Street Y and Sandra Cameron Dance Studio. She began training in NY Style Salsa On 2 with Santo Rico, Dance On 2, and with the legendary Eddie Torres. She later started training, teaching and performing with Karisma Dance Company. After two years with Karisma, she moved on to train and perform internationally at salsa congresses with Yamulee Dance Company’s professional team in the Bronx, NY. She supplemented her dance training by taking classes regularly at Steps on BroadwayPeridance Capezio CenterBroadway Dance Center and Ballet Arts.

After over 10 years of living in New York, she relocated to Jacksonville, FL. She is currently teaching group classes and private lessons independently.
